Let’s bust some myths…
MYTH: Cancer survivors don't care about sex, are too sick to be sexually active, etc
FACT: Sexual loss is a major theme for cancer survivors across all cancer types, genders, ages, sexual orientations, and races/ethnicities. Furthermore, sexuality continues to be important for many people with advanced cancer
MYTH: Cancer survivors are working with their medical/oncology team to manage their sexual dysfunction. They don’t need rehab for sexual dysfunction.
FACT: The reality is that less than 25% of cancer survivors are getting help for their sexual dysfunction from their medical providers. They're embarrassed to talk about it, their medical provider is embarrassed to ask or doesn't know how to help them, so no one is addressing it! Pelvic health rehab providers are key to helping cancer survivors address their sexual dysfunction.
